Adding Social Media Links
Most Social media sites provide icons or buttons you can use as a link on your site, some are imbedded in the code your given from the social media site.
If an icon is not provided you can always download one from a source like Icon Dock.
There are a number of effective ways to promote your public profile:
Make sure your public profile preferences are properly set to display the sections of your LinkedIn profile you want non-LinkedIn users to see.
Click on 'Account & Settings' at the top of any page.
Click on the 'Public Profile' link found under the 'Profile Settings' section.
Check the boxes in front of the items you want to display on your Public Profile.
Click on 'Save Changes'.
Click on 'View My Public Profile as others see it to view the changes.
Customize your Public Profile's URL. You can also include this personal URL in an email signature to direct contacts to your profile.
Click on the 'Edit Your Profile' link found on the left hand side of the home page.
Click on 'Edit' next to the 'Public Profile' area.
Click on 'Edit' next to the 'Your Public Profile URL' area at the top of the page.
Enter your new custom URL. All custom URL's must start with www.linkedin.com/in/ and must contain 5-30 alphanumeric characters. Do not use spaces, symbols, or special characters.
Click on 'Set Address'.
LinkedIn provides View My Profile buttons containing LinkedIn graphics that you can post in email signatures or on your blog, message board or website.
Click 'Edit My Profile' found in the left navigation area of the home page.
Click ‘Edit Public Profile Settings’ in the upper right-hand corner of the Profile page.
Click on the ‘customized buttons' link found in the Public Profile box.
Choose a logo button and copy the HTML code provided next to it. This code will include a link to your public profile.
In the Edit Content area of your website, click the "Source" button at the upper left of the text area, paste the code, save changes and post web. Done!
Twitter provides you with an easy tool that generates the code to add a display button to your pages. Simply visit their Button Generator .
Select the type of button you want,
Provide your account information
copy the code generated,
Then back on your AcuWeb pages in the Edit Content area of your website, click the "Source" button at the upper left of the text area, paste the code, save changes and post web. Done!
Facebook offers a variety of differant ways to link to your profile, photos, like button, or page.
Follow this link to the Facebook Badge page to view each option in detail. Once you get select the option you want and get the code, Edit Content area of your website, click the "Source" button at the upper left of the text area, paste the code, save changes and post web. Done!
