Content List ViewHome : Updater 4.2 Support: Content List View » Are you a visual learner? To see all content that is on your website, choose "Content" from the AcuWeb Menu and the content list view will appear. If you prefer to see content assigned to a specific page, go to the AcuWeb Menu, choose "Site Map" and click the "Edit Content" icon From the Content List View, you can...
View StatusOn the left of the list view, status icons indicate whether a given story's working title is hidden from public view; whether the story is automatically set to publish at a future date, or if its expiration date has passed (thus automatically removing it from display on the site); or whether the content of that item is concealed from Updater's built-in "site search" feature, which may be desirable in certain situations.
View ZoneEach website may have up to three different content zones assigned to a single page. In most cases, however, there are usually one. The "Zone" column indicates in which section, or "zone" of the page the story will appear. Each zone will be labeled clearly to indicate which part of the page the content has been assigned. Having the zone indicated on the list view is helpful for finding certain content in cases where there may be multiple content assigned on a single page. Search for ContentThere are three (3) ways to search for specific content on a website.
Search Tips
Create New ContentYou can create an all-new content item, or "story" for any page by clicking the blue "New Content" button near the top of the screen. If you've made changes directly to the information on this screen, and wish to save them, be sure to click the blue "Save Changes" button at the top, as well. It is important to remember that because you're working in a web browser, you must choose one of these actions after you've made a change, by clicking the relevant blue button, in order to tell the web server what changes you'd like it to record.
Edit Existing ContentThe Content List View displays the working title of each content item, or "story", followed by the name of the page on which the story is designated to appear.
Organize Multiple Content Stories on a PageThe "Order" column allows you to shuffle the order in which multiple content elements will appear on the page, from top to bottom (zero being at the top; 999 being the lowest position).
PreviewA "preview" icon
Note: Content that is not assigned to a page or content that has not been published will not show in the preview. DeleteOn the far right, a "delete" checkbox allows you to permanently remove the story from your Content database.
Note: Be careful when deleting content. Once it is removed, it cannot be retrieved. |
