How do I post or remove content on a specified day?
Updater 4.2 Support
In some cases, some content may need to be posted or removed on a specific day, however, there is no one to do it. A usable feature of Updater is that it will automatically post or remove content on any day you specify. Updater checks Start and End dates each day at midnight CST. It will remove any stories set to end on the preceding day and add any new stories set to Start on the new day that has just begun.
For example, you need an announcement on the home page to expire on June 15, 2010. Simply set the end date for that announcement, save, and post to web. At 12am CST on June 15, 2010, the content will automatically be removed from that page and archived (or deleted if you set it up that way).
Since both post and expire dates work the same way, this tutorial will cover content set to expire on a certain date.
- You will need to edit the content by going to the AcuWeb Menu and choosing "Content".
- Once the content list view is pulled up, a more detailed search can be used to find content. Use keywords (separated by a space) OR choose a specific page and press the Search button.

- To edit the content, click the title to continue.
- Scroll down to the Start & End Dates under the content editor.
- Click on the "End Date" field and a calendar will pop-up.

- Choose the date you wish for your content to be removed by choosing the month, year, and click on a day.
- Once set, the calendar pop-up will disappear and your date will be set.
- Click the "Save Changes" button at the top of your window.
- Click "Post to Web" to be sure your content will be removed as indicated.
Note: Failure to post to web after saving your changes on the page will result in the content remaining on the page after the specified date. You must publish your site in order for this feature to work. |
