» Are you a visual learner?
Check out our concise, step-by-step video tutorial on Updater's Site Map.
One of the most powerful features of AcuWeb™Updater™ is its Site Map, which presents a visual outline of the entire website, showing the hierarchy of all pages, and providing a set of icons for each page that allow you to preview the current version of any page; edit the characteristics of the page itself; edit the content that is assigned to that page; make a new copy from that page; delete the page; and, at the left, insert a numerical value that allows you to re-sequence the order in which the pages appear in your site's navigation. There are also special status symbols that indicate if a page is intentionally 'hidden' or omitted from the navigation listing; or if the page has been set to re-route, or "auto-forward" the viewer to other pages within your site.
- To access the site map, click on the "AcuWeb Menu" at the top and choose "Site Map".
- A pop-up window will appear with a list of every page that is on the Website.

Glossary of AcuWeb Site map Icons

- Hidden Page icon shows that the page has been hidden from navigation. You can edit this option while editing the page.
- Page Rerouted icon shows that the page is being redirected to another location.
- Edit Page icon takes you to a panel that allows you to control the most important characteristics of that page, including how it is labeled; what other page it is linked from; meta data, which is critical to helping your site's placement in search engines like Google; and other settings.
- Edit Content icon takes you to a listing of content items that are designated to publish on that page; from there, you may choose which content item you wish to edit or delete; or whether you wish to create a new content item to appear on that page.
Note that content items can be accessed either from the Edit Content icon on the Site Map, or directly from the 'Edit Content' item on your AcuWeb™ menu.
- Copy As New icon allows you to create a copy of an existing page template, and then give it a new name. The new page is inserted into the Site Map beneath the page from which it was copied. From there, you can manage the new page in the same manner as you would any other page of the website.
- Preview page icon gives you a simple, quick way to see what is currently displaying on any given page.
What can I do in the site map?
From the site map, a variety of tasks can be done:
Change order of pages in site map and navigation
Once a new page is created, the order of the pages on the site map and/or navigation can easily be changed.
- In your site menu, look at the "Order" column (with numbers) on the left.

- You can change the order by typing in consecutive numbers in ascending order. We suggest the following for flexibility:
- Single digits (Ex: 1, 2, 3, 4...) for the first level of pages.
- Double digits (Ex: 10, 20, 30, 40...) for the second level of pages.
- Triple digits (Ex: 100, 200, 300, 400...) for the third level of pages.
- When done, click the "Save Changes" button at the top.
