Introduction to AcuWeb™ Updater™4.2Home : Updater 4.2 Support : Introduction » Are you a visual learner? AcuWeb™ Updater™ is Acuity's fourth-generation web content management system. Its release marks the 11th anniversary of the original release of Updater™. Today, Updater™ is just one part of the AcuWeb™ System, a suite of browser-based web apps that combine the best features from earlier releases and a decade of input from our AcuWeb™ customers with significant advances in web technology to deliver a complete set of robust, seamless and mature website management applications. Unlike most other software, AcuWeb™ apps require no time-consuming installation and no tedious upgrades, because the AcuWeb™ software is delivered instantly to your web browser, every time you log in, as part of your AcuWeb™ Core Services website package. Updates to AcuWeb™ apps are automatic, too, so you can be confident your website is being managed by the very latest and best version of each AcuWeb™ tool at your disposal. And, when you'd like to add new AcuWeb™ functions to your web tool-kit, your AcuWeb support team at Acuity Marketing Communications handles all the set-up for you. Just let us know what you'd like to be able to do with your site, and we'll provide you with that capability. As soon as they are hooked up and ready [typically, within a few business days], the new AcuWeb™ apps appear on your administrator's menu -- ready for you to use! Note: AcuWeb apps work with all major web browsers, including Firefox and Internet Explorer, the two leading browsers. However, because it is more compliant with global web standards, the AcuWeb Tech Team strongly recommends that you use the latest edition of the Firefox browser to access the Administrative Area of your website. Firefox is a FREE download, available at Firefox.com, and installs easily in less than five minutes. This introduction covers several sections:
